Fans of The Office might be gearing up to watch the holiday episode where a fur-clad and dingy Dwight dresses up as Belsnickel and decides if his coworkers have been impish or admirable. We at the Tribune have taken it upon ourselves to pass such judgement on the news of 2020.
Politics
IMPISH: 2020 Presidential Election: Donald Trump Refuses to Admit Defeat and Ends Up Losing Recount President Trump and members of the GOP filed 56 lawsuits across the country in attempts to contest the election results. The majority of these cases have been dismissed or withdrawn, and as of Dec. 15, 2020 no court has found an instance of election fraud.
ADMIRABLE: Kamala Harris Becomes First Vice President Who is a Woman and Person of Color Former presidential candidate Harris was a senator from California who served as Attorney General of California prior to her senatorial win. Vice-President Elect Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986 and got her law degree from UC Hastings in 1989.

ADMIRABLE: 14 Year Old Girl Discover Possible Treatment for COVID-19 and Wins $25K A fourteen-year-old girl named Anika Chebrolu from Texas won the 2020 3M Young Scientist Challenge by discovering a lead molecule that can bind to the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which can be used to find a possible therapy for the coronavirus.

IMPISH: The Last of Us II … Was a Mess; Nobody Wants to Play 12 Hours as Abby After What She Did Plus the last few scenes as Ellie hunting down Abby did not need to happen and was extremely rushed. It should have just ended at the barn/house with Dina.
ADMIRABLE: People Find Therapy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons even if the pandemic made it hard to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch.

IMPISH: Coronavirus Pandemic Wreaks Havoc As of 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2020 there have been 73,697, 710 coronavirus cases and 1,638,828 deaths worldwide. The United States leads the world with the most toal cases followed by India and Brazil. In addition to loss of life and serious illness, the coronavirus pandemic has also caused economic devastation and many changes to how we interact with others, attend school and work.
ADMIRABLE: Revolutionary CRISPR Gene-Editing Technique Shows Promise For Curing Many Diseases The groundbreaking procedure ushers in an era of gene-editing to treat cancers and rare blood disorders. Victoria Gray, a person living with the blood disorder sickle-cell anemia, was the first person with a genetic disorder to get treated in the United States with the CRISPR technique and the billions of genetically-modified cells she was infused with have been working to alleviate almost all of the sickle-cell complications.

IMPISH: Fast Fashion is Still Incredibly Popular Despite Lockdown
ADMIRABLE: Harry Styles Dresses Up, Literally, on the Cover of Vogue Harry Styles appeared on the cover of Vogue Magazine fashionably wearing a dress, though he was the first to wear a dress on the cover of Vogue, his decision reflects the popular style of men wearing dresses, skirts, and makeup. Especially in the music industry where Harry Styles would hardly be the first. Most famously would be singers such as Prince and Freddie Mercury.

IMPISH: The Lesbian Community is in Controvery Due to Debates over ‘The Happiest Season.’ Our staff who have seen the Hulu film agree — although we’re thankful for any movie that features lgbtqia+ protagonists, the main character in this film should have ditched her terrible girlfriend in the first 20 minutes of the movie.
ADMIRABLE: Disney Releases Plans for Upcoming Films Multiple franchises under Disney have released the new films and TV shows that are to be expected in the next three years including LOKI, Thor: Love and Thunder, Spiderman Three, Black Panther Two, Captain Marvel Two, Ashoka, Visions, Willow, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Tiana, Moana, Zootopia+, Baymax, Iwájú, and more.

IMPISH: Women’s US Soccer Team is STILL Paid Less Than the Men’s Team, Despite Being Immensely Better. Honestly, it’s almost 2021, can our female athletes be paid equitably already?
ADMIRABLE: Women’s US National Soccer Team Wears Black Lives Matter Uniforms on Nov. 27 and some players also took a knee while the National Anthem played before an International Friendly Game in the Netherlands. The USWNT tweeted that “We wear Black Lives Matter to affirm human decency. We protest against racial injustice and police brutality against Black people. We protest against the racist infrastructures that do not provide equal opportunity for Black and brown people to fulfill their dreams, including playing on this team.”

IMPISH: Local Miami Student Host Party After Testing Positive for COVID-19 AND made national news. Thanks for representing the Ox-Box so terribly and for potentially infecting at least 20 others as well as law enforcement. That’s not what Love & Honor is about.
ADMIRABLE: City Council is Looking to Provide Wifi in Public Parks and Low Income Neighborhoods Oxford City Council has reviewed a resolution that received a lot of support. This resolution was to install internet in low income neighborhoods and in all public parks throughout Oxford such as the Oxford Community Park and Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
