Bengals Off to a Great Start

The local NFL team is off to a great start for the 2015-2016 season. The Cincinnati Bengals’ record is now 5-0. Some say the bengals have an easy schedule, but their most recent game was against the Seattle Seahawks, who played in the 2015 Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.

bengalsAlthough the Bengals are 5-0, they aren’t satisfied with their start. 5-0 means nothing in the regular season. It’s not until the playoffs that the games really matter. The Bengals have consistently done well in the season to get to the playoffs. However, once they are in the playoffs, they tend to lose the first game and their whole season comes to an end.

After a few rough years, quarterback Andy Dalton is having the best season of his career. Fans were not satisfied with his past years performance, but that has changed this year. Dalton is ranked 2nd in the NFL quarterback rankings, and is also 2nd in the league in passing yards.

Bengals fan, Logan Vaughn, a junior at THS said, “To win in the NFL and make it to the playoffs, they need to have a stronger running attack. They need to establish the run early in the game more often, which will keep the defending team ready for the run and that will open up opportunities for Dalton to throw deep down the field.” The Bengals have been to the playoffs many times but have only been to the Super Bowl twice. They took a loss in both the 1982 and the 1989 Super Bowl games. The Bengals plan on carrying their 5-0 start to the playoffs.
