Lady Braves Softball Plays Their Last Game

Coming off of last Thursday’s win against Northwest, Talawanda’s varsity softball team was hoping to come out of the first tournament game with a win.

The game was close for the first two innings with Indian Hill only scoring one run. In the third and fourth innings Indian Hill kept a tight defense against the Braves, and an even tighter offence. At the end of the fifth inning Indian Hill scored the ten runs it took to run rule Talawanda.

“Even though we had a rough season, we are still a family that loves each other,” said sophomore and first year Varsity player, Melena Smith.

The game ended with the Braves losing ten to zero, putting Talawanda out of the tournament.

“I think next year will be a return to winning for the Braves softball program,” said Varsity coach Christina Beckett, “We return with many key starters and have some talented underclassmen ready to step up for Varsity. I expect a winning season.”

The girls’ season is now officially over, and they are setting their sights on next year.
