On Saturday, February 2, the Talawanda wrestling team placed 5th out of 8 schools at the SWOC championships at Ross High school. Talawanda has only weeks left in the season, and with a record of 12-5, Talawanda may have what it takes to place at the state level.

Adam Ruby placed 2nd in the 120 lb weight class at the SWOC championships.  And, with a record of 97 career wins, he may become the 2nd Talawanda wrestler in 50 years to have 100 career victories. Currently, Adam has a record of 21-7 in the 2012- 2013 season.

The Talawanda Wrestling team continues to climb the ladder to victory. The team continues to grow in size and ability.

“A few years ago, we did not have enough kids for a full team” said Head Coach Brian Ruby. “Now we have enough kids for a JV and Varsity team.”

On Saturday, February 9, the Talawanda wrestlers will compete in the Batavia Invitational, in Batavia, Ohio.
