iPhone 4s vs. iPhone 5

Some people have called the iPhone 5 the most anticipated phone yet, but how different is it really from the iPhone 4S?

The iPhone 5 was released on September 18th. While many were happy with its taller, slimmer, less heavy build, many found that its programs were not much different.

The 5 has a .5-inch bigger screen than the 4. Also, the 5 has an 1136 by 640 resolution on the screen, as opposed the the 4’s 960 by 640 resolution.

“I love my iPhone 4S. It’s so smart, but it could have better service,” said junior Mackenzie Neal. “I won’t get the iPhone 5 because I’m waiting for the iPhone 5S. It’s going to be better.

The iPhone 5 may have a nano-SIM card, but it is not compatible with any exciting micro-SIM from an iPhone 4S. You cannot get any data from your 4S to your 5 through the SIM card.

Siri, your “Intelligent Assistant”, is the same in both phones. The iSight camera is also the same. However, the FaceTime camera is very different.

5 has 720p HD video with a backside illumination sensor for FaceTime. The 4 only has VGA-resolution photos and videos.

“I don’t really want the iPhone 5 because I don’t think there is much of a difference.” Sophomore Megan McCracken said, “Why spend four times the money when the 4S has everything that you need? Siri is my girl.”

The iphone 5 also has improved on the 4S’ video calling. It has more improved video stabilization, you can take still photos while recording a video, and it has face detection.

There is a big difference in the Earbuds between the two phones. The 5 has new EarPods, which have a remote, mic, and come with a storage and travel case.

Overall, which iPhone is “better” is your personal preference. Right now, it is unclear on whether the iPhone 5 is worth triple the money of the iPhone 4S.
