Senior Emma Wright Signs With Grand Valley

Talawanda High School senior basketball player Emma Wright signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 to continue her athletic and academic careers at Grand Valley State.  According to NLI, the signing is a binding agreement between an NLI member institution and the prospective student-athlete that the student will attend the college/university for at least one academic year and that the learning institution will provide the scholar-athlete with financial aide (http://www.nationalletter.org/aboutTheNli/index.html).

Emma has played varsity basketball all four years at Talawanda. According to THS athletic director West Cole, as a sophomore Emma averaged 10.3 points a game and was named a SWOC Honorable Mention.   As a junior Emma was named to the SWOC First Team and First Team All Journal News and she lead the Lady Braves in scoring with an average of 16.9 points a game.  Emma is a scholar-athlete with a 3.83 GPA and she is currently in 18th place on the Talawanda all-time high scoring list.
