Moyer, 49, Gets the Nod In Game 2

The Colorado Rockies announced Saturday, March 31st, that 49 year-old pitcher Jamie Moyer will start the second game of the season on the mound against the Houston Astros.

Moyer, a 2008 World Series Champion with the Phillies has accumulated 267 wins in his career.  He is one of 29 players ever to play in Major League baseball game in a span of four decades.

Entering his 26th season as apart of a Major League Ball Club, Moyer has very high expectations for the season and wants people to know he is there to win games.  “I intend to win more than one game.  If age had a bearing on my decision I wouldn’t be doing this.”

“I want to contribute here, that’s what it is all about.  I want to contribute on the field and in the clubhouse.  This is about pitching for a team and putting forth the best effort I can along with 24 other players to make the team successful” Moyer said in an interview with Fox Sports.
