THS Ag Business Class Practices Skills While Getting into the Holiday Spirit
By Staff
Oxford, OH–The Talawanda High School Agricultural Business class is getting into the holiday spirit and selling wooden Christmas trees. Chyann Kendel, ag teacher, challenged students to “create a profitable business that will be planned, executed, and reflected on over the next few weeks,” and her students have chosen to once again make and sell one foot and three-foot stained, wooden trees that each include a bow and sprig of festive greenery.
Students will practice their in-person selling skills at holiday events including the FFA-sponsored Pictures with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Talawanda High School Cafeteria. The event will include hot cocoa, donation opportunities, and of course the big guy himself, Santa Claus. The wooden trees as well as ornaments will also be available for purchase.
The small wooden trees (1 inch) are great as table toppers and will be sold for $15 while the large (3 inch) trees that would look great on a porch or in an entryway will be sold for $25.
This year, the students are offering the opportunity for those who purchase a tree to also buy one to donate to a local nursing home.
If you would like to order a tree, you can do so here. If you have any questions, you can also contact Ms. Kendel at kendelc@talawanda.org.
