Socks, an Underrated Christmas Gift

Christmas is coming up this holiday season. With Christmas comes presents. So do you struggle to figure out what to get your loved and liked ones? Well, socks are the perfect gift to give. Only looking at the surface, socks may seem like a boring gift with no thought put into it, but in reality, socks are so much more. Socks can be an expression of art and love. They come in many shapes and sizes. You can have fuzzy socks, funny socks, solid color socks, fun patterned socks, etc. You can customize socks perfectly to give to the perfect person. They are comfy and stylish, and you can wear them year-round. To dive a little deeper into our exploration of socks, I decided to interview fellow Talawanda student Damon Byrd.

When asking Damon how he feels about receiving socks as a gift he responded with “anytime I can get free socks is a win in my book. I love socks”. Damon, just like many others, enjoys socks with fun patterns and designs, along with black dress socks to go with any outfit. When asking Damon about how he would gift someone socks, he said “I would have to get someone socks with a goofy design on them and I would either get them socks that they would love or hate just to be funny.” He also believes that Christmas socks are a year-round thing. Damon, unfortunately, wears socks to bed so it is unclear how much he can be trusted. 

If you think about it, when have you really despised a pair of socks you have received? They are comfy and fun and everyone needs them. So, if you don’t know what to get someone for this Holiday season, just know that you can’t go wrong with socks!
