Tribune Watched it: Graduation Movie Night
THS graduating senior Eleanor Prytherch crowd-sourced some movie recommendations on Instagram for a graduation-themed movie night. Even if you’re not graduating, these coming-of-age films are sure to entertain and give you nostalgia as we end this unprecedented school year.
Eleanor recommends The Perks of Being a Wallflower based on the book of the same title written by Stephen Chbosky. Chbosky also wrote the movie’s screenplay.
For those who like scary movies: the classic Carrie, based on the Stephen King novel, has one of the most unforgettable prom scenes in cinematic history. Recommended by Lily (THS class of 2020)
For those who prefer lighter viewing, THS alum Maddy recommends 10 Things I Hate About You, High School Musical 3, and Booksmart.
THS Freshman Kas recommends the romantic coming-of-age Love, Simon based on the book Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli.
Betsy, THS class of 2020, recommends Golden Globe winner Ladybird.
Tribune advisor, Ms. Weatherwax (who graduated high school way back in 1993) recommends some classic 80s fare: Pretty in Pink, Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Some Kind of Wonderful.
