THS Mock Trial: State Bound
On Friday, February 10, 2017 the Talawanda Mock Trial team beat teams from Springfield and St. Xavier High Schools to win their bid to State Competition. Seniors Dakota Bailey-VanKuren (Outstanding Attorney) and Kendall Cramer (Outstanding Witness) and junior Amily ZhouWang (Outstanding Witness) won awards at regionals.
On Thursday, March 9 THS Team Io will travel to Columbus to try the case of Pat Justice V. CAT News et.al. Teams must win each trial to advance in the competition and Talawanda joins 31 other teams from across the state to vie for title of State Champ.
Ohio Mock Trial has over 300 teams state-wide making Talawanda’s team in the top 10%. Team Io is coached by THS English teacher Amanda Weatherwax and Miami University pre-law student John Paul Prusakowski. For more information on how you can join Mock Trial next year see Dr. Weatherwax in room 417.
