2016-17 Course Elective Options
Believe it or not, we now have less than two months till the year 2017. With that being said, we still have until May 24th. Even though we’re stuck in school, that doesn’t mean we have to dread it until we leave. There are many available options for electives we can take that will help make these coming up years more bearable and hopefully more fun to go through. Here are a list of some of the electives you may be able to take.
The literature department offers Topical Studies and Journalism. Journalism is a re-working of News writing and students will produce digital as well as print stories. The class is taught by Dr. Weatherwax. According to Ms. Alfonsi this coming up school year Topical Studies will focus on the Holocaust: Resistance, Recovery, and Redemption. The course will be taught by Ms. Mann.
The Business and Technology Department consists of mostly electives so there’s tons of options to choose from here. Some of the options include; Keyboarding, Game Design, Digital Media, Digital Productions, Business Law, Engineering Design, and a ton more.
The Science Department offers advanced classes like AP Chemistry and AP Biology, honors classes like Honors Physics, and other classes like Botany and Engineering. AP Chem is taught by Mr. Pasquale, AP Biology by Mr. Yuva, Honors Physics by the famous Schmid, Botany by Ms. Ruther, and Engineering by Mr. Mills.
The History Department also offers many electives like AP World History, Current Events, Diversity Studies, Psychology (Honors and regular classes), Sociology, and lots of other options too. AP World and Diversity Studies are taught by Ms. Mahaney, Pysch and Honors Psych by Mr. Tincher, Current Events by Mr. Kelly, and Sociology by Mr. Caudill.
So do yourself a favor and take one of these interesting classes next year.
