A new restaurant has become the only roadhouse in Oxford.
Dakota’s Roadhouse recently opened its doors at 325 South College Avenue in Oxford.
Dakota’s Roadhouse features Western decor and an elaborate menu with all the typical food expected of a western-style restaurant. This includes burgers, steaks, prime rib, seafood, barbeque, as well as soft and hard drinks, and has added even more since their opening.
“Dakota’s has stayed busy from the very first day it has opened,” said Korey Schlenk, a table busser and dishwasher for Dakota’s Roadhouse.
“On the weekends it is so busy that there is only standing room left in the bar, and there is always a wait for rest of the restaurant,” he said.
According to their website, Dakota’s offers fundraising to give back to the community, and is even willing to give flyers to to the organization they are helping. The flyers state that anyone who wants to help the organization can go to Dakotas and present that ticket and Dakota’s will donate 10% of that bill to the organization they are helping.
Dakota’s Roadhouse got its name from the states the company founders felt best represented the old west, according to the Dakota’s Roadhouse’s website.
According to the website, the company chose the Dakotas because these two states contain Mt. Rushmore, the notorious Badlands, historic gold rush towns, the largest unfinished statue in the world of Crazy Horse, and lastly, Sturgis.
Dakota’s Roadhouse has other locations all around Ohio, such as, Chillicothe, Jackson, Waverly, Hillsboro and Washington.
Dakota’s is open Monday-Thursday; 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and Friday-Sunday 11:00-11:00.
