Fresh Baked Cookies Delivered to Your Door
The doors open and the smell of grandma’s homemade cookies wafts out and electrifies the senses of everyone who walks by.
Could it be grandma? No. It’s Justin Craney and his crew in their new uptown shop, Baked Sweets.
Craney started Baked Sweets alongside his fiance, Jennifer Ward, and Quiznos’ owner Justin Elgie.
Baked Sweets, open less than a month, has become a big hit with the locals. With much of their customer base line coming from Townies and Miami students.
“The idea for Baked Sweets came from Jennifer,” Craney said. “She attended college in Austin, TX, and they had a shop down there that did late night delivery of baked goods. When visiting their website she realized they had expanded and were doing really well. So we took that concept and put it to work with our ideas.“
Baked Sweets sells cookies, made from scratch in small batches, with no added preservatives or artificial flavors. Using their own homemade recipes and tweaking them as they go.
Baked Sweets offers seven different options of freshly baked, cookies: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Snickerdoodle, Oatmeal and Raisin, Double Chocolate, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut and Sugar.
When asked what the most popular cookie was, Craney was quick to say chocolate chip. The team conducted a survey for seven cookies, with chocolate chip winning every time.
If you ask Craney he’ll tell you his favorite is the sugar cookie. “It’s made a little different from most Sugar cookies, and has a great texture and taste,“ he said.
“We expect to continue adding products to the menu, and try to make ourselves stand out with our one of a kind products and service.” Craney added. “We will continue to meet customer requests and provide great customer service. “
Baked Sweets delivers until 3 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the school year, and until 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, giving cookie lovers ideal times to snack on warm, gooey deliciousness.
