D.I.Y. Christmas Gifts Save Money!

It’s Christmas time! If you’re anything like me, money runs out quick when you have a whole list of people to get gifts for. So, an easy, alternative idea is do it yourself gifts! Sometimes personal, handmade gifts are better than store bought ones. Here are a few of my personal favorite – and inexpensive – D.I.Y. gifts straight from Pinterest.

How to make markers permanent on a glass plate.

Step 1: Get a plain, glass, white plate. Dollar Tree has these, and they are only a dollar!
Step 2: Find colorful sharpies. This step is easy…
Step 3: Design and color the plate however you wish. Don’t be afraid to get creative!
Step 4: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 5: Bake the plate for 30 minutes.
Step 6: Be very careful taking the plate out of the oven and let it cool down.

How to design a picture frame.

Step 1: Get a plain picture frame with no designs. Dollar tree also has these.
Step 2: Take a glue bottle and dress up the frame with the glue. Do any design you want.
Step 3: Let the glue dry.
Step 4: Paint the frame with a solid color.

-The glue made the frame have a carved looking effect. The designs are endless.

How to make a painted wooden sign.

Step 1: Get a plain wooden sign or board.
Step 2: Put stickers on the sign. This could be letters that make out a quote.
Step 3: Paint the sign over the letters, making sure to cover the entire thing.
Step 4: Let the paint dry.
Step 5: Peel off the stickers.

-This could work for anytime of the year, it doesn’t even have to be a gift. You can put a quote or even just your last name.
