Bullying Reporting Website
Talawanda School District is trying to make their schools a safer place. In doing so, a new bullying reporting website has come out that allows students to report bullying. The district came up with the website in hopes of lowering bullying rates to make the school a safer place.
“PublicSchoolWORKS is an effective tool to promote a safe and healthy school environment by providing and coordinating programs and services that minimize health and safety risks to the district community,” stated Kelly Spivey, district Superintendent.
The student bullying online reporting website is a way that students can easily report any bullying that is happening. The website is a safe place for students to go to report their situations. Students can remain anonymous when talking about their problem if they choose to do so.
“More actions come faster when a student just comes and tells us,” stated guidance counselor Matt Smith. This website has helped a few students already this year. However, it takes a long time to solve bullying situations that come in from online.
The guidance office has an open door policy when it comes to bullying. This allows for students to go in and talk to their guidance counselor at any time if they are feeling bullied. Counselors, then, can deal with the bullying much faster than if it were posted on the website.
For more information you can access the student bullying reporting website on the Talawanda high school website. Students can always talk a guidance counselor or a teacher if they are feeling bullied.
