THS Art Show: Featuring Creative Talents of Students
The Talawanda High School art show is this Thursday, May 24 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Miami University Art Museum.
The show will feature selected works from THS students participating in the various art classes within the school. “I feel like my students’ quality of work in the past two years has doubled in not only quanity, but quality and creativity as well,” said organizer of the show and THS art teacher, Jim McWilliams.
“The Miami University staff over at the art museum are great to work with,” said McWilliams, reflecting upon the event, “I hope the turnout will be high, especially because this is all going on the same night as senior awards.”
The Talawanda Steel Band will also be performing during the show to add to the atmosphere. “We are going to be playing Caribbean styles such as soca and calypso as well as some rock, funk and R&B,” said Mike Marston, the director of the steel band. The band will be playing from 5:15-6:00 during the show.
The show will be held in the first gallery of the museum. Be sure to swing by to check out the creative talents of these featured Talawanda High School Students.
