FAVC Girls Make History

The Talawanda Girls’ Track Team participated in the FAVC West Division Final League meet on Friday, May 11 and took home the championship trophy with a total score of 142 points, which has not happened since 1989.

Top performers were Jessica Tegge, who was named FAVC runner of the year. Kyra Reinsenfeld won the pole vault competition, and Sarah Starrett earned first in the 3200 meter run along with the 4×800 relay, and 2nd in the 1600 meter run.

Also the 4×400 relay team of Jessica Tegge, Besty Whiteman, Hannah Wachenheim and Bristyl Webb clinched the title with the last race of the night.

In addition, the girls secured the final FAVC all-sports trophy. This is compilation of  all fall, winter, and spring sports sponsored by the conference.

However, the 2012 season is not over yet.  The District Meet will be held on the 16th and 18th of this coming week.  Here, athletes will compete for the top 4 spots to qualify them for the Regional Meet the following week.
