With over 50% of America on Facebook, there will always be improvements and changes occurring constantly. The new timeline, photo viewer, and ways to talk to friends are some of those changes. However, the newest update may help save lives.

More than 114,ooo people are waiting for an organ transplant right now around the world. An average of 18 people per day will die waiting, because there aren’t enough organ donors. By just telling someone that you are an organ donor, you may help make a difference.

Facebook is making this easier. Now, on your timeline, you can choose to say that you are an organ donor, and tell your story on when and how you decided to become an organ donor. If you are not registered already and you want to be, there is a link to the official donor registry and sign up.

Through this option, Facebook is hoping it will become easier to find organ donors near you and help diminish the number of people waiting for a transplant.
