The Wealthiest of Fiction

You may have heard of the list Forbes devises of the wealthiest human beings alive (currently Carlos Slim Helu & Family with $69 billion). The money magazine also creates a list of the world’s wealthiest fictional characters. That’s right, if you don’t exist, were dreamed up from the brain of someone else, and aren’t already part of legends or mythology, you are eligible to make the list! Here is a taste of the list:

#1: Smaug (of The Hobbit)

#2: Flintheart Glomgold (Scrooge McDuck’s rival)

#5: Tony Stark (Iron isn’t cheap)

#9: Forrest Gump (he did get invested in that fruit company)

#10: Mr. Monopoly (even with a money-centric name, he couldn’t get better than number ten)

Nine babies, one (really pregnant) woman

Karla Vanessa Perez of Coahuila, Mexico is being seen at a hospital in state capital Saltillo. She is pregnant—with nine babies. She has six girls and three boys.

Weatherman chased away

Meteorologist Kurt Aaron of WNEP-TV in Scranton, Pennsylvania recently had a scary experience. While filming a live weather report for the 11pm newscast, a mama bear and three baby bears appeared in the background.

Aaron ran inside, continuing his broadcast as the cameramen still filmed the bears.
