Trolling on the Internet
As you go through your day, sometimes you take the necessary time to get on the internet and maybe watch your favourite youtube video or possibly even lurk on some forums for some news, whether it be gaming or current day-to-day news. Sometimes, you come across these people who try to start arguments or are just overly sarcastic toward everyone on that video/website. These people are called “Trolls.”
Trolls are people who just can’t live their life without making someone mad. They go through their day being rude to people everywhere and cyber-bullying everyone when they find a chance, even against their own kind. You can find these people anywhere on the internet, and there’s no stopping them.
How to tell if someone’s a troll:
- If their post makes a lot of sense and you can completely agree with them. This is the bait that lures you into the troll’s trap.
- If they treat everyone with respect and kindness. They just want to become your friend so you fall prey easier.
- If they have a legitimate response to anything you say. Trolls are extremely intelligent and are on the internet daily. They look up a lot of stuff so they can win any debate.
- ???
- Profit.
Some of their popular lurking spots are places such as Reddit, 4chan, 9gag, and even Tumblr. But, here recently, some trolls have been finding their way over to Facebook. Trolls are the scum of the internet, and you want to avoid them at every cost.
However, if you do eventually come into contact with a troll, experts say that the best way to avoid them is just to ignore them or don’t respond. Eventually they’ll take the hint and leave you alone to go pick on someone else.
This is a load of horsey poopy. #troll4life
