The “Aerni” Good Morning Smoothie

This is a quick, easy, and quite delicious smoothie recipe.  If you freeze the fruit ahead of time, there’ll be no need for ice, which can often water down the finished drink.  Honey is added for a slight sweetness, but not nearly as much as sugar.  The final smoothie is a bittersweet, very drinkable (and good for you) start to any day.  Measurements are approximate.

Recipe:

1 cup vanilla yogurt

4-6 ounces pomegranate juice (or orange juice)

5-6 frozen strawberries

5-6 frozen blackberries

Handful of frozen blueberries

Tablespoon honey

Add the yogurt and fruit first into a blender.  Second, add the honey, followed by the juice.  Depending on how thick you like your smoothies, you may want to add or subtract the amount of juice in the mix.  Start the blender on a low setting, slowly moving up to “liquify” or “smoothie” setting.
