Burger King finally updates
Fast food giant Burger King has been slow to embrace change as its competitors have done. When in 2011, the King was replaced by Wendy’s for number two burger chain in domestic sales, executives such as CEO Brad Blum decided they had to “focus on who they are and what sets them apart.” The menu is getting a facelift, both the food and the menu board. Slatted boards will be replaced with digital screens, and new choices like “white tenderloin” chicken, Garden Fresh Salads, snack wraps, smoothies, and frappés are available. A new marketing strategy has been developed that includes celebrities David Beckham and Jay Leno. Home delivery is even being tested in Washington D.C. Renovations will also be made to the décor, including moveable chairs and tables, softer cushioning, and a predominant red and yellow theme. Even the famous Whopper is getting improved, with a thicker slice of cheese replacing two thin ones, hand-sliced lettuce and tomatoes, and the return of the cardboard box.

Forget the car; Wash your dog in a machine instead!
Romain Jerry, 31, has come up with lazy pet owners’ answer to an unasked question. Introducing the Dog-O-Matic, a never-before-seen, completely humane, inexpensive, and terribly clever washing machine for your pooch! This iconic blue machine has popped up in various locations across France, and Jerry hopes they can spread to Britain. It costs thirteen euros for a small dog (cats of any size are washed at this price as well), twenty-two euros for a medium dog, and thirty-one euros for a large dog. The inventor insists animals do not suffer.

Don Sammons, age 61, is the lone resident and acts as mayor, postmaster, tow-truck driver, shopkeeper, and any other job you can think of. About thirty years ago, he and wife moved there for more space. But when his wife died and his son grew up and moved out of the house, he became the sole resident. Sammons decided to take full advantage of that.
“I’m alone but never lonely,” he told NBC News.
What is included in the price? The old schoolhouse, the post office, the gas station and convenience store, and the lease to a cell tower, along with ten acres of land.
