Wye Oak, made up of Andy Stack and Jenn Wasner, performed at the Southgate House Revival on Sunday, August 7 in support of their new record, Tween.

The show, which ran about 90 minutes, featured songs from across the band’s catalogue. Tween saw its physical release on Friday and is a record of reimagined songs from prior releases Civilian and Shriek. While the band meticulously and beautifully wandered through standout tracks “Watching the Waiting” and “Trigger Finger,” it was songs like “Civilian” and “Holy Holy” that received the largest reaction from the relatively small crowd.

What was most impressive about this show was the huge sound this duo puts out. Using pre-recorded loops and synth triggers throughout the show, the band was tight and sounded like indie giants…which they are (or should be).
