Miami University Presents the 10th Annual UniDiversity Festival

Do you need to spice up your life? Do you want to learn about Latin America and the Caribbean culture? Do you have nothing to do this Friday night? Then there is only one place to go.

The Unidiversity Festival is being held in Oxford Uptown Parks on High Street and Main Street on Friday, Sept. 21. It begins at 5:30 p.m and ends at 9:30 p.m. The event is free and completely open to the public.

According to to the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs website, the point of the festival is “To promote diversity and inclusion in our community, and it is also a chance to learn more about the peoples and cultures that are quickly emerging as the largest ethnic group in the United States.”

The site continues to say that this festival ends a month full of activities within Hispanic heritage month.

Uptown there will be authentic Hispanic cuisine, music, performances, traditional arts, children’s activities, a live animal show, information booths, door prizes, and much more. All of these different aspects of the culture are there to give you the full look into the heritage of Hispanics.

“The festival offers opportunities for MUOHIO students, faculty, and
staff and members of the local community to learn more about the rich and
highly diverse performative and artistic aspects of the many Latin
American cultures and Latino/a-Hispanic peoples in the US and abroad,” says Dr. Mary Jane Berman, the director of the Center for American and World Cultures.
