ACT Testing Location Changed

On Saturday, June 9, at 8:00 a.m. some students will be taking the ACT (American College Testing).  An important change of location was made for this test: it’s now located at Talawanda Middle School.

The testing location changed from the high school to the middle school because the high school will be too noisy due to teachers cleaning out their rooms to prepare to switch buildings.  Students taking the ACT need to be sure to enter at the main entrance of the middle school at 7:45 a.m.

It is recommended that all students taking the ACT bring their admission ticket, multiple number two pencils, a good eraser, and an approved calculator.  You can make sure you have the correct calculator on the ACT website.

The night before taking the ACT you should try to get several hours of sleep to ensure that you won’t be half asleep for the test.  You should also eat a good breakfast in the morning to get your brain thinking.  Don’t wake up, drink some coffee or pop, and then expect to do well on the test.

It’s important to remember that you only get one break half way through the ACT.  It is a timed test, so it’s not advised to go to the restroom during a test.  During your break you could eat something small, like fruit snacks that you can eat in a minute to help refresh your brain for the second half of the test.

On the ACT, it’s very important to answer all of the questions.  Don’t leave any blank.  Make sure you give yourself enough time to answer every single question.  They score you on the amount of questions that are answered correctly.  So, there’s no penalty for just guessing.

Most importantly just remember to eat a good breakfast, bring the required items, and answer all of the questions.  Also remember what Chris Curme also said, “Don’t buy a textbook, eat fish.  It helps you do better on tests.  I always eat fish before a test.”
