Michigan Teen Makes Prom Dress Out Of Starburst Wrappers

Diane McNease, got the idea for her prom dress when she saw a friend folding starburst wrappers to make a bracelet. Eighteen thousand wrappers later, she had her own creation.

It took McNease a year-and-a-half to collect all the wrappers, and five months to make her prom dress. The dress also features a black satin “ball gown” skirt layered with tulle.

“It was kind of a dare,” McNease stated.  “Someone said I couldn’t do it. That’s the last thing you should say to me.”

For the first month she ate the all the candy herself, then she got sick of it. After that, friends at her high school said they would be happy to assist her in the project.

Every teenage girl dreams of looking unique on her prom night. Some girls just take “unique” to a new, fruity level.
