Pizza and Burgers Collide

When people think of fast food, they probably think of McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King, as well as Pizza Hut, Little Caesar’s, and Donato’s. Pizza Hut Middle East has come up with a new product that blends their famous pizza with burgers: The Crown Crust Carnival Cheese Burger Pizza. The pizza includes a ring of miniature sized chesseburger patties and cheese, with the center consisting of beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce.

There is also a Crown Crust Chicken Filet pizza, where chicken nuggets serve as the crust, and chicken strips, green peppers, onions, and barbeque sauce comprise the center.

Unfortunately, these pizzas will not be available in the U.S.

Frozen beef

The Conundrum Hot Springs forest officials of Aspen, Colorado are warning visitors of a hidden surprise inside a nearby cabin: Frozen cows. The bovines were found when Air Force Academy cadets stumbled upon them. It is believed that these cows sought shelter during a snowstorm, but found no exit. Rangers hope to remove the animals as soon as possible.

Woman is fired after donating kidney

Donating a kidney is one of the most wonderful things a person can do. It can be the difference between life and death for some people. But when Debbie Stevens donated a kidney to Jackie Brucia, her boss, she was promptly fired.

Because her boss was too low on the donor list, Debbie offered her own kidney. But complications made Stevens’ recovery from the surgery problematic. Her performance at the Atlantic Automall in West Islip, NY was less than satisfactory, so she was transferred to a sister dealership—about 50 miles away. There, she eventually was fired.

Stevens’ lawyers have filed suit against both Brucia and Atlantic Automall.

Illegal, but awesome, tree house built.

Joel Allen recently created a YouTube video featuring his 200-square-foot “HemLoft,” a tree house shaped like an egg, built into a hemlock tree. The interesting part is that he built the structure in Whistler Woods, property that is owned by the Queen of England. The house was built mostly with materials found in the free section of Craigslist, as he had not the money to build. But he says he wants to share his design to the world, though he may get in trouble or lose the house.

Avoid risky decisions

Decisions are made constantly in a person’s daily life. There are inevitably bad ones made among them, that may stem from previous experience and bias. Now, researchers have found a new way to avoid making these negative choices: Think things through in another language.

Studies found that a different language than the one you natively speak reduces bias and increases the probability of choosing a high-gain, low-loss choice, by seeing a “bigger picture.” The process is believed to lessen emotion that can skew a decision, and provide true investigative thought.
