Fourteen and a half questions with the Aernis.

I recently sat down with Stephanie Aerni and Matt Aerni, and asked seven point two-five questions each. these two are two of the best teachers in teaching history , both in whom are very comical but serious when it comes to academics. With highly superb teaching methods, students have a lot of fun learning. My experiences with the Aernis, both in class and in this interview, has always been a quality time.

Joseph DeVaughn: What do you think of Mr. Aerni’s stash?

S. Ae: I do not like his mustache.

Joseph DeVaughn:  You grew up where?

M. Aerni: Maumee, Ohio, near Toledo

Joseph DeVaughn:  Where’d you grow up?

S. Aerni: Coshocton, Ohio.

Joseph DeVaughn:  Are you sad that people won’t be creatively exposing their inner writer  in front of the class next year, since Creative Writing was cut?

M. Aerni: I am sad that there weren’t enough kids to sign up, but if this year’s Creative writing class had to be the last, it would be a great way to end.

Joseph DeVaughn: What did you want to be growing up?

S. Aerni: Always a teacher.

Joseph DeVaughn:  If you could be anything other than a educator, what would you be?

M. Aerni: I would roast coffee, and own a coffee roasting business. I would also travel to countries that grow coffee beans and bring back beans to roast.

Joseph DeVaughn: Do you enjoy co-teaching?

S. Aerni: I do. I love teaching with Mrs. Cole.

Joseph DeVaughn:  What’s your favorite coffee bean?

M. Aerni: My current favorite is from Ecuador.

Joseph DeVaughn. What do you enjoy doing out side of school?

S. Aerni:I love to sew, and clean the house. I also like to watch really trash reality T.V, like The Real Housewives of New Jersey and The Kardashians.

Joseph DeVaughn:  What’s your favorite music genre?

M. Aerni: If I had to place a label on it, I’d say rock, rock n’ roll, and Indie rock.

Joseph DeVaughn:  How long have you taught?

S. Aerni: This is my seventh year.

Joseph DeVaughn:  What do you do outside of school?

M. Aerni: I walk my dog, roast coffee, listen to records, eat ice cream and I sit on my back deck and pet my dog.

Joseph DeVaughn:  Do you highly value music?

S. Aerni: I think so, but in a way I’d value art, but not as much as Mr. Aerni values music.

Joseph DeVaughn:  What music talents do you have?

M. Aerni: I can play Guitar, I sing in the band I’m in, the Banjo, drums and I can kind of play the Piano and sax.

Joseph DeVaughn:  Pirates eat…..

S. Aerni: Banana and cannibal sandwiches.
