Hot dog! A robbery!

A drunk man in Arkansas tried to rob a convenience store with a set of hot dog tongs, just yesterday. Witnesses say Renee Jackson grabbed the tongs from the counter and tried to stab the clerks, demanding money.

As if IKEA doesn’t sell enough…

Furniture giant IKEA is stepping into the technological world with UPPLEVA (Swedish for “experience”), a furniture range of TVs, CD/DVD/Blu-ray players, and surround sound systems, bundled into furniture. The electronics are made by Chinese manufacturer TCL, while the assembly around it is made by IKEA. Simplification is a big feature, as the product is designed to hide cables and wires within its framework, and all controls have been funneled into one remote. The furniture permits remote signals through to the devices contained inside, so there’s no need to bring them out. MP3 players can be plugged in as well. TV screens come in four available sizes, with multiple colors, and the layout of the furniture has three designs. It is not available in the United States, but will be in the first half of next year for about $955.
