Update on The Voice

The Voice is back, bigger and better than the previous season.  The expectations are higher and the voices are bolder.

The Voice is a show that is somewhat similar to American Idol.  America votes for members of each team to stay in the running to become The Voice.  Instead of having judges, there are four coaches who have to pick people to be on their teams.  Once each coach has their members the coaches help their team members sing as well as they can.  They train them and give them pointers on how to improve their voice or their stage presents.

The four coaches had to sit through weeks of blind auditions listening to hundreds of voices to pick out twelve special people for each of their teams based only on the voices they heard.  Then those lucky twelve had to battle another member on their team to fight neck and neck for their spot in the live shows.

Coach Adam Levine had singers Karla Davis, Katrina Parker, Kim Yarbrough, Mathai, Pip, and Tony Lucca going into the live shows.  After a week of eliminations, his lucky four left are Katrina Parker, Mathai, Pip, and Tony Lucca.

Coach Blake Shelton started his live shows with Charlotte Sometimes, Erin Willett, Jermaine Paul, Jordis Unga, Naia Kete, and RaeLynn.  After eliminations he has Erin Willett, Jermaine Paul, Jordis Unga, and RaeLynn left to battle for the title of The Voice.

Coach CeeLo Green started off his live shows with Chessa, Jamar Rogers, James Massone, Juliet Simms, Erin Martin, and Tony Vincent.  During eliminations, CeeLo sent home Erin Martin and Tony Vincent.

Coach Christina Aguilera started off her live shows with singers Ashley De La Rosa, Chris Mann, Jesse Campbell, Lindsey Pavo, Moses Stone, and Sera Hill.  She sent home Moses Stone and Sera Hill during eliminations.

This year all of the coaches were looking for something special from everyone on their teams.  They don’t pick people based on their favorite genre.  They want a mixture of every genre on The Voice.  Each coach has their own version of different genres on their teams.

Last season the winner of The Voice came from Adam’s team.  We’ll have to wait and see if the winner is going to come from his team again, or if the winner is in Blake, CeeLo, or Christina’s team. Tune into NBC on Monday’s at 8:00pm to keep up with The Voice live shows.  Then tune in on Tuesdays at 9:00pm to see the elimination rounds.  To learn more about The Voice go to nbc.com/thevoice.
