THS Varsity Softball

This year’s varsity softball is in full swing.  They have a good team, a good coach, and a good attitude.

“We’re working really well and we’re not arguing as much this year.  Everyone gets along.” said Junior Amalia Stevens.

The varsity team has done very well since the season started on March 28th.  They are 5-0 in this season already, and it seems as though they aren’t going to let up any time soon.  “We want to be on top of our conference this year and to go far in the tournament, too,” said varsity coach Christina Beckett.

Caitlin Calhoun, the team’s starting pitcher, is a strong player who has led them into being in the top so far.  “Caitlin’s one of the best in Butler County,” said Beckett.  “She has a great team behind her.”

While the team is very successful in playing outfield, the batting could still use some improvement.  “The girls need confidence while batting,” said Beckett.  “They’re not doing as well as I think they should.”  Stevens said their hitting needs work, but every person that is on varsity deserves to be on varsity.
