Rock N’ Roll Reunion?

Saturday, April 14, 2012 has the potential to be one of biggest nights in music history if the original line up for Guns N’ Roses  reunite for one one night as they are inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame.

This would be historic considering all five original members (Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler) have not performed on stage together since July 11, 1990. The possibility of the reunion comes from the tradition of RN’R HOF inductees to perform with their original members. The reunion would also be shocking due to the  harsh words that have been exchanged between band members in recent years, especially the well documented feud between lead singer, Axl Rose, and guitarist, Slash.

Some members have even given input on the possibility of the reunion. Drummer Steven Adler recently spoke to Rolling Stone magazine saying, “A reunion is unlikely to happen, but I believe that their is a higher power and anything is possible.”

Slash  told radio personality, Eddie Trunk, “A lot would have to change for [the reunion] to happen, but as far as the induction goes, I’ll be there.”

Duff Mckagan said to Gibson.com  that he will catch himself fantasizing about playing “Nightrain” or “Mr. Brownstone” for the reunion, but understands the slim chance of it. Rose has avoided most questions when asked to him as he did on Vh1 Classic’s “That Metal Show.”

Izzy, being the quiet one, has not released any statements regarding the potential reunion.

Unlikely reunions from previous years include The Police, Cream and though Led Zeppelin did not perform the night of their induction, they did do a one night show shortly thereafter.

Recent reports have indicated that there will be no reunion for GN’R, but with rumors still swirling as the date draws near, only time will tell.
